Berlin High Names 2023 Valedictorian, Salutatorian
The Berlin High School commencement ceremony is on Friday, June 9.
BERLIN, CT — Berlin High School recently announced who its top two members of the Class of 2023 will be when they graduate on June 9.
The school system announced that the 2023 BHS valedictorian is Michael Lanteri, who has piled up the academic accolades in high school, according to the Berlin School system.
School official said Lanteri has been named an AP Scholar with Distinction and a CAS Scholar Leader and has earned the RIT Computing Medal and Excellence in AP Computer Science A award.

He is also a member of the National Honor Society and Coding Club, is a house leader in the Upbeat peer leadership program, and serves as a STEM Academy tutor for math and computer science.
Lanteri plans to study computer science at the University of Connecticut in Storrs this fall.
Meanwhile, the Class of 2024 salutatorian at BHS is Laura Munch, who has also achieved much in high school.

School officials said she has taken advantage of extensive AP and UConn ECE course offerings and has earned numerous academic awards in a variety of courses, High Honors status all four years, and has received the Harvard Book Award.
Munch’s extracurricular activities include Upbeat, the National Honor Society and Interact Club.
She has been heavily involved with the Berlin High Music & Theatre Arts Department including school musicals, fall plays and the Madrigals acapella ensemble.
Munch has also volunteered her time as a math tutor and has mentored an elementary school student on a weekly basis.
She plans to study secondary education for chemistry at the University of Connecticut in Storrs.
