BERLIN, CT — A young photographer at Berlin High School was recently honored at a special exhibition for budding shutterbugs.

BHS senior Madelyn Lazzara was honored for her photography, "Natural Beauty," at the"ASAP! Celebration of Young Photographers" exhibition.

This is the third time her artwork has been recognized by ASAP, an arts institution based in Washington, CT.

Lazzara's photograph was created as part of her portfolio in AP 2D Studio Art and Design class last year, taught by art teacher Kathy Miller.

ASAP!’s annual Celebration of Young Photographers invites students in grades 6-12 to submit their photographs for a chance to participate in a juried art exhibition.

A panel of professional photographers selects 60 photos for this public exhibition, recognizing the top four photos and their photographers for outstanding and thoughtful work based on the yearly theme.
