Berlin Historical Society Launches America 250 Programs With April Events, New Exhibit

BERLIN, CT — The Berlin Historical Society will launch its 2026 programming for the nationwide America 250 commemoration with a series of public events beginning April 14, alongside the seasonal opening of its museum and a new exhibit on the town’s Revolutionary War role.

A program titled “Berlin in the American Revolution” will be held on Tuesday, April 14, at 1 p.m. at the Berlin Senior Center, 33 Colonial Drive.

The presentation will be repeated on May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Berlin-Peck Memorial Library, 234 Kensington Road, offering residents multiple opportunities to attend.

On April 18 at 1:15 p.m., the Berlin Historical Society Museum, 305 Main St., will host a special presentation by Damien Cregeau, described as a reenactor and author from Old Wethersfield.

The program will focus on the lives of Connecticut’s Revolutionary War soldiers. Admission is free, and Cregeau will sell copies of his book following the event.

The museum will also feature a new exhibit highlighting Berlin’s contributions during the American Revolution. Organizers note that while major battles occurred elsewhere, the town played a significant supporting role.

The museum opens for the 2026 season on Saturday, April 11, with hours from 1 to 4 p.m.
