Berlin Launches Townwide Scavenger Hunt For America's 250th

BERLIN, CT — Residents have a new opportunity to explore Berlin's history this month as part of the town's celebration of America's 250th anniversary.

The Town of Berlin announced that a community-wide scavenger hunt began Friday, June 5, and will run through June 14.

The event was organized by volunteer members of the Berlin 250 Steering Committee as part of local commemorations marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Participants who register for the scavenger hunt will receive a list of locations throughout town to visit.

The location list can be delivered electronically or picked up in paper form at the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library.

Organizers said the scavenger hunt is designed to encourage residents to learn more about Berlin's history while exploring sites across the community.

Completed entries may be submitted online or in hard-copy form. All participants who finish the scavenger hunt and submit their responses by June 15 will be entered into a prize drawing.

Prizes have been donated by local businesses and community organizations.

Town officials encouraged residents of all ages to participate in the event, which is one of several activities planned in conjunction with Berlin's America 250 celebrations.
