According to the library, the app allows patrons to:

  • Save their library barcode on their smartphone for quick access.
  • Link multiple library accounts to manage barcodes, holds, and checked-out materials for family members or others.
  • Use self-checkout by scanning books with their phone while visiting the library.
  • Scan a book's ISBN barcode to check whether it is available in the Library Connection catalog.

Library officials said push notifications for hold pickups will be added in a future update.

Until then, patrons can look for a "for pickup" notice displayed within the app.

Before using the app, patrons must create a new password through the Library Connection online catalog.

Those who have already logged into the new catalog and updated their password do not need to complete the process again.

Patrons with questions can contact Berlin-Peck Memorial Library at 860-828-7125, reply to the library's email announcement, or visit the circulation desk for assistance.
