Berlin Library's 'Warning From The Future' Contest Seeks Creative Entries

BERLIN, CT — Berlin-Peck Memorial Library patrons have until the end of August to imagine what the future might tell the present — as long as they can do it in exactly two sentences.

The library's "Warning From The Future" literary contest runs through Monday, Aug. 31, inviting participants to submit an original two-sentence warning from the future.

Berlin-Peck Memorial Library is located at 234 Kensington Road in Berlin.

Entries can take either a serious or humorous approach, according to the library.

Participants may submit multiple entries, but each submission must contain exactly two sentences and be the entrant's original work.

The contest is open to library cardholders age 14 and older. Entries must be submitted by Aug. 31.

A blind review panel made up of library staff will judge the submissions. Entries must also contain subject matter appropriate for display at the library and on its social media accounts.

Every participant will receive a custom commemorative bookmark featuring their best entry, regardless of how many submissions they make. The winning entry will be featured on the back of that month's commemorative bookmark.

Entries that do not comply with the contest rules will be discarded, according to the library.
