Berlin Man Killed After Being Hit By Truck: Police

State police are still investigating the Tuesday night accident.

BERLIN, CT — A 42-year-old local man was killed Tuesday night after being struck by a pickup truck on Route 9 in Berlin.

According to Connecticut state police, the victim has been identified as Damian Mikolaj Liberda, 42, of Briar Patch Drive, Berlin.

Police said Liberda was a pedestrian in the right lane of Route 9 South when he was struck by a 2018 Toyota Tacoma double cab pickup at about 6:02 p.m. Tuesday.

The truck was being driven by a 37-year-old West Haven man, police said.

According to the state police accident report, which was released Wednesday morning, Liberda suffered serious injuries after being hit and was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police are investigating the incident.
