Berlin To Mark America's 250th With Huge Parade, Celebration Tonight

BERLIN, CT — Residents are invited to celebrate the nation's 250th anniversary during the Town of Berlin's Spirit of America Celebration on Wednesday, July 8, featuring a patriotic procession, a nationwide reading of the Declaration of Independence and community festivities at Town Hall.

The evening's events begin at 5 p.m., when a costumed "George Washington" will lead a march from Main Street down Kensington Road to Berlin Town Hall, 240 Kensington Road. Residents are encouraged to join the procession or watch along the parade route.

At 6 p.m., the celebration continues at Berlin Town Hall with Berlin's participation in the nationwide reading of the Declaration of Independence, commemorating the 250th anniversary of its signing.

The program will also include the Bell Ringers, followed by an ice cream truck for attendees.

Town officials are encouraging residents to take part in the community celebration honoring the nation's founding and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
