Berlin Obituary: Edna Amenta, 92

Condolences to her family and friends.

With sorrow, we announce the passing of Edna Rita Amenta who died peacefully March 15, 2017 in her home in the Westfield district of Middletown.

She was born in 1924 in Nanticoke, PA and relocated to Connecticut in 1942 where she met and married her loving husband, Joseph Amenta, founder of the Amcar Manufacturing Company in Kensington.

She is predeceased by her husband Joseph, her son Edward, and her infant son, Anthony. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Edna will always be remembered for her dedication to her family, her profound Catholic faith and her spiritual devotion to St. Anthony. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin for more than 50 years.

She is survived by her daughters Rosalyn Amenta Greco of Woodbridge and Beverly Bosse of Berlin; her grandchildren Lorraine (Jason) Lewis and Edward Amenta, Jr. of Bradenton, FL, Melissa Amenta of Plainville, April (Troy) Clark of Wolcott, Vincent Bosse of Berlin, and AnnaChiara Greco of Woodbridge; and her great-grandchildren Amber Gunn of Florida, Jordan Kelley of Berlin, and Veronica Najar of Wolcott. She is also survived by her loving sisters-in-law Rose Lucenti and Doris Camden of Bristol and Maureen Amenta of Colchester, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families throughout Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida and New York.

Her family wishes to offer heartfelt thanks to her devoted caregiver, Mrs. Bozena Milczarek, who tenderly cared for Edna throughout her recent convalescence. Edna will forever be missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all whose lives she touched.

Family and friends may call at Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St, Kensington, on Monday, March 20, 5 pm -7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 21 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church, 48 Cottage St, East Berlin, followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St, New Britain.
