George K. McGuiness, 88, of Kensington, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, with his loving wife by his side. He was the son of the late Thomas and Jeanette (Egenton) McGuiness and the husband of Olga (Sumyk) McGuiness.
George served in the U.S. Army and worked in General Electric and Heister Company for many years. He enjoyed the Red Sox and the UConn men's and women’s basketball.
Besides his wife, Olga he is survived by two sisters, Betty Zmijewski of Farmington and Janet Siart of Mystic and several nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by three brothers, Francis, Thomas and John McGuiness, two sister-in-laws, Lucille and Rita McGuiness.

Services and burial will be private at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown at the convenience of the family.
