Giuseppe (Joseph) Briganti, 77, of Berlin, beloved husband of Santina (Musumeci) Briganti, died on Sunday at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.
He was born on January 27, 1939 in Sortino , Italy and was the son of the late Angelo and Maria (Rossitto) Briganti. Guiseppe arrived in the United States in 1958 and resided in Newington for most of his life before moving to Berlin . He had retired in 1994 from the GE Company after many years. He also had a real estate license and was formerly employed by the Dorio Century 21 Company and was currently employed by the Realty Three company. He was also a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving family, two daughters, Susan and son-in-law Frank Quaranta of Newington and Josephine Briganti of Cromwell; a brother, Vincent and wife Nancy Marturano of Easton, MA; a sister-in-law, Maria Birritteri of New Britai; four grandchildren, Daniel, Marissa, Michael, and Christopher; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Connie Manuele.

The funeral will be held on Friday at 10:30am from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30am in the Church of the Holy Spirit. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Mary Cemetery , New Britain. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-8pm.
