Berlin Obituary: Helen Moisuk, 91

Helen M. Moisuk, 91, of Kensington, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Moisuk.

Born in New Britain on July 29, 1925, a daughter of the late Marko and Katherine (Spunt) Derkach, Helen resided in Colchester for most of her adult life, moving to Kensington in 1995 to be closer to her sister, Stasia, who was her best friend. She was a devout Roman Catholic and a parishioner of St. Paul Church and she never gave up on her strong faith.

Helen is survived by a daughter: Donna Mary Moisuk of Kensington, 2 sons: William (Tracy) Moisuk of Massachusetts and Michael Moisuk of Colchester, 3 sisters: Stasia Taricani of Kensington, Mary Boccia of Maryland and Julie Aparo of Southington, 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister Anne Marsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Helen on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Church, 645 Alling St., Kensington. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain. Everyone is invited to go directly to the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to St. Paul Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
