Berlin Obituary: Helen Sobchuk, 93

Helen K. Sobchuk, 93, of Berlin, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017. She was the wife of the late Alexander Sobchuk.

Born in New Britain on August 29, 1924, Helen was a daughter of the late Arthur and Mabel (Cypel) Kalberg. Helen was employed as a supervisor for the Department of Public Utilities Control for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Paul Church and a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis and the Berlin Senior Center.

Helen is survived by a son: Alex (Paula) Sobchuk of Torrington, 3 daughters: Carol Smith of Palm Bay, FL, JoAnne (Roger) Theriault of Ft. Pierce, FL and Donna (Jeffery) Bergren of Berlin, a sister: Irene Miller of Katy, TX, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Helen was pre-deceased by a son-in-law: Jim Smith a brother: Raymond Kalberg and a granddaughter: Kate Bergren.

Friends and family may call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington, on Monday, October 16, 2017, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling St., Kensington. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin.
