Berlin Obituary: Helen Tomasaitis

Condolences to her family and friends.

Helen (Januszewski) Tomasaitis, of Berlin, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Edward Tomasaitis for over 71 years.

Born in New Britain, daughter of the late Adam and Rozalia (Sobiech) Januszewski, she was a longtime Berlin resident and a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain. Helen and Ed were inseparable, traveling the world together and enjoying ballroom dancing lessons. She loved to cook and entertain and eat her favorite chocolate desserts. She loved seeing her nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews and their families. Her greatest joy was spending time with her great grandnieces and nephew.

Along with her husband, a loving sister and aunt, she leaves her brother, Stanley Januszewski, her many nieces and nephews including her Godchildren, Kathleen Norton and her husband Timothy of Niantic, Claudia Blanchette and her longtime partner John Crandall of Madison, David Tomasitis of East Berlin and close friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her four sisters, Mary Kaminski, Lucy Wilks, Irene Tomasitis and Sophie Januszewski.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 3rd, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
