Berlin Obituary: Pauline Schuetz, 92

Condolences to her family and friends.

Pauline R. "Paula" (Rousseau) Schuetz, 92, formerly of Newington and Berlin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell, due to complications of diabetes. She was the beloved wife and soul mate of the late Calvin Schuetz who she gave loving care to the last seven years of his life.

Born in Lowell, MA, daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Louise (Caron) Rousseau, she spent most of her life in Newington and was a member of St. Mary's Church. Pauline also spent many retirement years living in Vero Beach, Florida and enjoyed knitting, playing bridge and reading. She was also a volunteer knitter for newborns at the hospital and a former member of the knitting club at Stonebridge.

A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother in law; she leaves her three daughters, Barbara-Jean Fortuna and her husband Ron of Essex, Elaine Marino and her husband Bud of Vernon and Nanci Jutras and her husband John of Newington, six grandchildren Colleen Schmelter and Bryan Burns of Vernon, Renee Dumas Rodriguez of Mamaroneck, NY, Randy Dumas of Lebanon, and John Jutras and Nicole Jutras of Newington and six almost seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Jacqueline Dumas and by all of her seven siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 20th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. She will be laid to rest with her husband in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
