Berlin Obituary: Rosalie Mehan, 95

Rosalie Wrobel Mehan of New Britain, wife of the late Joseph L. Mehan, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Amber Woods in Farmington.

She was born on October 21, 1920 in New Britain to the late Peter and Mary (Pac) Wrobel and attended Sacred Heart School and New Britain High School. Before her retirement, she worked at T.M. Tool in East Berlin. For many years, she and her husband were very active in St. Mary School and Church activities in New Britain, both were members of the Social Ministry and also ran the weekly bingo games at the church. In later years she was a parishioner of St. Jerome Church.

She is survived by three children: a son, Joseph and his wife Claire of Wethersfield; a son Thomas of Windsor Locks; and a daughter Barbara Kidwell and her husband Roger of Plainville. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Donna Norris and her husband Shawn of Bristol; Michael Mehan and his wife Suzanna of Burlington; Adam Mehan and his wife Christina of Broad Brook; Rebecca Mehan and her husband Kevin of Jackson Heights, NY; Kate St. Amand and her husband Zachary of Pleasant Valley; Peter Kidwell and his wife Heather of Southington; and Ruth Kidwell Wagner and her husband Jay of Farmington. Rosalie was so proud of her great-grandchildren: Vanessa (Mehan) Senatore and her husband Michael; Jacob Given of New Britain; Ryne and Rhyanna Mehan of Newington; Ian and Daniel Kidwell of Southington; Timothy and Tierney Mehan of Broad Brook; Rosalie and Thaddeus Schlottmann of Jackson Heights, NY; and Hunter, Declan and Nolan St. Amand of Pleasant Valley.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8th. Calling hours are from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jerome Church at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery following the mass.
