Berlin Obituary: Shirley Zipadelli, 77

Shirley Spaulding Zipadelli, 77, of Kensington, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 in New Britain.

Born in Falls Church, VA on August 18, 1938 to the late William Henry and Nora (Moore) Spaulding, Shirley was the youngest of 16 children. Shirley had a long career as an administrative assistant and retired from the State of Connecticut where she worked for State Senator Donald DeFronzo.

Shirley’s greatest passion in life was her family and she will always be remembered as a loving, unselfish and devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her son William Zipadelli and his wife Sherie, their children Nicholas and Alyssa of Kensington, her daughter Shelly Persil and her husband Christopher and their children Emily and Jacqueline of Fairfax, VA. She is also survived by her sisters Goldie Loy and Anne Keller of SC and Margaret Snyder of Manassas, VA.

Friends and relatives may call at the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Kensington on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Resurrection and internment will take place in West Falls Church, VA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Smile Train or American Diabetes Association.
