
Sophie Koval, 89, passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on June 5 2017.
Born in Hartford to Andrew and Barbara Kaladich, she attended Hartford High School where she won an Art Scholarship to attend Norwich Free Academy Art School. Sophie was a talented artist and loved the arts. Her joy came from anything crafty including painting, sewing, cooking, and baking, and was known for beauty and grace as a dance partner with her husband. She spent many years as a nurse’s aide at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell.
She is predeceased by her brother Andrew Kaladich Jr, sister Barbara Sack, and her sons Michael A. Koval and Steven Koval. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Michael Koval of East Berlin, daughters Mary Ann Martin and husband Robert of New Hartford, Dianne Shoaf of East Berlin, and Linda Anderson of FL and several nieces and nephews and grandchildren; Henry, Amy, Eric, Crystal, Jarrett, Chloe, and Colten.

The family wishes to extend gratitude to the staff at The Hospital of Central Connecticut for their care and support in her final days.
There will be calling hours from 12pm to 2pm leading into the funeral service at 2pm on Friday June 9th at Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm Street Rocky Hill 06067. The burial will immediately follow.
