Berlin Obituary: Stanley Dombkowski, 83

Condolences to his family and friends.

Stanley P. Dombkowski, 83, of Kensington, passed away at home peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores (Hilinsky) Dombkowski.

Born in New Britain, son of the late Francis and Stanley Dombkowski, he was a longtime Kensington resident and a member of St. Andrew's Church, New Britain. Stanley honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed at Colt Manufacturing as a Tool Design Maker, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement.

A loving and devoted father and grandfather, he leaves his two children, David S. Dombkowski and his wife Halina, of New Britain, Sharon DeMorais and her husband John, of Kensington, and his loving grandchildren, Andrea and Kristyn Dombkowski, and Kyle and Brianna DeMorais, whom he adored. He is also survived by his sisters Florence Bjorklund and Irene Horanzy, and brother Walter Dombkowski, brother-in-law Paul Vasile Sr., along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Helen Kancewicz, sister-in-laws Anne Dombkowski and Charlotte Vasile, and brother-in-laws Richard Bjorklund and Joseph Horanzy.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, February 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's Church, 390 Church Street, New Britain. He will be entombed with military honors in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum, New Britain.

The family would like to thank Hartford Hospice Healthcare for their support during this difficult time and also his caregiver Edward Zietara for all his care throughout and to his loving dog Snickers for all the love he gave.
