
William E. Knorr, 83, of Berlin, passed on peacefully at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
Born in Hartford on February 15, 1934 he was the son of the late Eugene L. & Anne (Sturgeon) Knorr. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hartford, and had served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. Prior to his 1990 retirement, he was an electrical engineer at Northeast Utilities, giving over 30 years of dedicated service.
Left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty (Nelson) Knorr, a son James Knorr and his wife Deborah of Wethersfield, a brother Eugene L. Knorr and his companion Ellen Boyne of Hartford, 5 grandchildren; Sharon Knorr, Geoffrey Knorr and his wife Catherine, Melissa Bertellotti and her husband Michael, Diana Colella and her husband Joseph, Sarah Piskorik and her husband Marshall, and 6 great grandchildren; Caleb & Lorelei Houston, Eliska, Cecilia, & Timothy Knorr, and Joseph J. Colella. He was predeceased by a son, Robert W. Knorr in 1983.

His life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 17, with an 11:00 AM memorial service at St. James's Episcopal Church, 1018 Farmington Ave, West Hartford. There are no calling hours and interment will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial.
