Berlin PD Increases School/Church Patrols After Minnesota Shooting: Police

BERLIN, CT — In the wake of Wednesday's horrific school shooting in Minnesota that killed or injured several children, Berlin police have pledged increased patrols at local schools and churches.

The Berlin Police Department issued a statement saying such Wednesday afternoon.

"In the wake of the tragic event of the Catholic school shooting that has occurred in Minnesota, we are increasing police presence around all our schools and houses of worship," wrote the BPD in a statement.

"Our BPD officers will be conducting regular patrols, maintaining close coordination with school officials, and remaining highly visible to ensure safety and peace of mind," police wrote.

"This is not just about enforcement. It's about reassurance. We understand taht fear and uncertainty are real."
