BERLIN, CT — Folks wanting to see local police officers freeze might want to head out to Silver Lake in Berlin later this month.

That's where members of the New Britain Police Department and the Berlin Police Department will jointly host a Connecticut Special Olympics "Penguin Plunge" event.

This is when cops and supporters jump in a freezing lake to collect pledges and raise money for Special Olympics, which organizes athletics competitions for special needs athletes.
