BERLIN, CT — At a time when many municipal police departments are coping with staff turnover and a dearth of candidates, Berlin police officials this month say they're hiring too.

But one police department's challenge is another opportunity for a prospective police officer.

As a result, the Berlin Police Department is hiring both certified and entry-level police officers.
