Berlin PD Seek Vehicle Behind June 18 Blaze

The BPD said Tuesday its looking for help in locating a gray minivan linked to an incident near two local businesses.

BERLIN, CT β€” Local police Tuesday said they're seeking the public's help in locating a suspect vehicle linked to a June 18 incident that resulted in a trash can blaze.

According to the Berlin Police Department on Tuesday, the incident happened June 18 at about 12:29 p.m., when a large fire was ignited in a trash can outside of Josie's Corner and the Dirty Dog, 162 Mill St., Berlin.

The fire caused several Berlin Fire Department units to respond, along with the BPD, which immediatelly began a criminal probe.

"Security camera footage revealed a gray older model minivan, possible Ford Windstar, with four occupants igniting a firework, watching it for one minute and then throwing it away after in the trash can," wrote the BPD Tuesday.

The department has also posted an image of the suspect vehicle along with a clearer image of the type of vehicle being sought.
