Berlin-Peck Makes Push For September Library Cards
The Berlin-Peck Memorial Library is recognizing September's 'Library Card Sign-Up Month' by offering various incidents to get them.
BERLIN, CT — The Berlin-Peck Memorial Library has made September Library Card Sign-Up Month, an annual push for folks to renew and obtain library cards.
"This is the time of year that we celebrate our library and remind everyone about the value of a library card," said Berlin-Peck Memorial Library Director Carrie Tyszka in a statement.
For example, she said, library cards are not just for checking out books, but also offer access to various online databases like Consumer Reports and online newspapers like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

For this month, she said, there is another reason to get or renew a card.
"Everyone who gets a new library card or renews their current card during September will be entered into a raffle drawing," she said.

Plus, if folks refer friends and family to get their own library card, they will both earn an entry in the drawing.
Tyszka said Berlin library accounts expire automatically every three years, regardless of how often you use the library.
