BERLIN, CT β€” Berlin's finest welcomed two new recruits last week with training already underway.

The Berlin Police Department announced the acceptance of Rebecca Salina and Curtis Williams as being the newest to join the ranks of the BPD.

But before they can hit the streets, there's extensive training to be done and both, currently, are fully in training at the New Britain Police Academy.

The BPD said Salinas is a former dispatcher in Saugerties, N.Y., so she has experience with emergencies and calls for help.

Meanwhile, Williams is a veteran of the U.S. Army, so serving the public is nothing new to him.
