Berlin Police Honored For Life-Saving Effort

Three police officers were honored for saving a patient's life in 2017.

BERLIN, CT - Three police officers were honored recently for saving a person's life in August 2017. According to Berlin Police, Sgt. Solek, Officer Lagueux and Officer Blake responded to an ambulance call for a person who was found to be unresponsive, pulseless, and not breathing.

The officers initiated CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator. After several rounds of CPR and a shock from the AED, the patient regained a heartbeat and began breathing, according to police. The patient survived the incident.

On Nov. 9, 2018, the police officers were presented the Spirit of Life Award by the Hospital of Central Connecticut for their lifesaving efforts.
