Berlin Police Not Afraid To Jump In Icy Lake For Good Cause
The Berlin and New Britain police departments will be at a frozen lake in Berlin on Friday to jump in and raise money for Special Olympics.
BERLIN, CT — Members of the Berlin and New Britain police departments will do anything to help Connecticut Special Olympics — even jumping in a lake ... in February.
Officers and staff from both departments will be at Silver Lake in Berlin (off Route 15) on Feb. 21 for the annual "Penguin Plunge."
The departments are raising money to support Special Olympics Connecticut.

According to event organizers, there are "plenty of ways to get involved."
For example, you could raise money and jump in the lake, cheer on those willing to do so, and/or make an online donation yourself.

The plunge will take place at the lake on Friday, Feb 21, at 1 p.m. All are invited to watch or, even, participate.
