Berlin Police Seek To Prevent Break-Ins With 9 p.m. Routine

To stop the frequent car burglaries, Berlin Police have taken to social media.

BERLIN, CT - Berlin Police have taken to social media to educate residents about the 9 p.m. routine. This is in an effort to thwart thieves who have been breaking into cars across the state in recent months. Often these thieves target unlocked cars and numerous towns have reported an uptick in burglaries.

The Berlin Police Facebook page has a series of memes encouraging people to remember to lock their cars.

The 9 p.m. routine originated with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. The Florida sheriff's office wanted to help people protect against easily preventable burglaries by locking their homes and cars every night.
