Berlin Pool Closed To Public After Broken Glass Was Found

BERLIN, CT — Broken glass and public swimming pools do not go together.

As a result of just that situation in Berlin, the town had to close Percival Pool, 20 Highland Ave., Berlin.

The glass was found Sunday afternoon, according to town officials.

"For the safety of the patrons and staff the pool was closed immediately," wrote the Town of Berlin.

Citing federal regulations, the pool must be drained, cleaned, refilled and inspected.

"Due to this, the pool will remain closed until further notice," wrote the town.

In addition, swimming lessons and swim team practices are canceled as well, officials said.
