Berlin Resident Aglaia 'Aggie' Tartaglia Passes Away at 83

Calling hours and funeral services will be held on Wednesday.

On Friday, October, 9, 2015, Aglaia “Aggie” Tartaglia, 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Born in New London on September 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Olga (Botchis) Nastos.

She had lived in Newington for most of her life before recently settling to Berlin and had worked many years at Keeney Manufacturing in their payroll department.

Aggie was predeceased by her beloved husband Sebastian J. Tartaglia in 1992, and her brother Nicholas Nastos.

Heaven now has a new Angel. Aggie fought all the way to the end and left this world on her terms.

She will be so dearly missed by her family, which include her loving children; Olga Glynos and her husband John of Burlington, Alex Tartaglia of New Britain, Anna Tartaglia of Berlin, Gregory Tartaglia and his wife Diane of Simsbury, and Angela Goralnik and her husband Jimmy of Hebron, and 6 cherished grandchildren, Alex Jr., Sabrina, Jacob, Zachary, Joelle, and Phoebe, and many dear nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 301 West Main St., New Britain, on Wednesday, October 14, from 9:00 until 11 AM with a 10 AM Trisayion Service. After visitation, a funeral service will be held at the church at 11 AM. Committal services will follow at West Meadow Cemetery in Newington.

Arrangements are under the direction of Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be directed to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108.
