BERLIN, CT — Planning for a massive, America 250 celebration in Berlin this May will start this week with an organizational meeting.

Folks are invited to come to Berlin Town Hall on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m. to create a committee for "Yankee Peddler Day."

This unique event is being revived to celebrate local history, especially the original tinware peddlers.

It is tentatively slated for Saturday, May 30, at Berlin Veterans' Park, as part of the America 250 festivities.

It features historical reenactments, crafts, music, and food, harkening back to when Main Street was closed for the popular festival decades ago.

Thursday's planning event will take place in the Doc McIntosh Conference Room at Berlin Town Hall, which is at 240 Kensington Road.
