Berlin Scarecrow Festival Coming Up

BERLIN, CT — The Berlin Parks and Recreation’s registration for the 15th annual Scarecrow Festival has begun. You may register your scarecrow online, by mail or in person with the Parks and Recreation Department. Information and registration form can be obtained on the town’s website www.town.berlin.ct or the town’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TownBerlinCT)

Deadline to register is Thursday, October 10, 7 p.m. Scarecrows will welcome in the Fall season on Farmington Ave from Sunday, October 13 to Wednesday, October 30. The entry fee will cover the cost of the event and the awards.

Again, this year winners will be determined solely by the public so make sure you vote for the top scarecrows in all four categories plus Berlin’s Best Scarecrow. Cast your vote at the following locations. Berlin Community Center, Berlin Senior Center and the Berlin Peck Memorial Library or new this year we will have online voting. Check the Town’s Facebook page on October 15 for instructions. Voting will open on Tuesday, October 15th at 3:00 PM and will close on Wednesday, October 30th at 4:00 PM. Winners will be announced at 1:00 PM on Halloween, Thursday, October 31, 2019. Look for Scarecrow photos on the Town of Berlin’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TownBerlinCT) or get a closer look by strolling down Farmington Avenue to see which creative scarecrows you will cast your vote for . Prizes will be awarded in all four categories plus Berlin’s Best Scarecrow.
