Berlin Seeks 'Clark Griswolds' In Holiday Light Contest

The town is already registering households for the contest, with registration ending on Friday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m.

BERLIN, CT — If Clark Griswold lives in Berlin, he might be a hopeful for the Berling Parks and Recreation Department's annual Holiday House Decorating Contest.

While there's no word on whether Chevy Chase will be around to collect Berlin's prize, many other residents will.

The town is already registering households for the contest, with registration ending on Friday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m.

Registration actually started on Monday and there are several categories being judged by the town.
Those include: Most Creative; Most Colorful; Most Decorated; Classic/Traditional; Inflatables; Best All White Light Display; Elves' Favorite; and Best Overall.

Town officials said "elves" will drive around the week of Dec. 12 after 5 p.m. to take a look at the contest entries.

Winners will be announced the week of Dec. 19 on the Town of Berlin's Facebook page.
