Berlin Seeks Nonprofits To Participate In Tax Break Program
Nonprofits and/or community groups have until April 26 to apply for a program granting benefactor companies tax breaks for donating.

BERLIN, CT — Local officials are looking for Berlin nonprofit groups and projects that could benefit from having companies donate to their causes.
As a result, the Town of Berlin is accepting proposals from nonprofit organizations for community programs to be designated as eligible for business contributions under the State of Connecticut 2024 Neighborhood Assistance Act Tax Credit Program.

According to the state, this "is designed to provide funding for municipal and tax-exempt organizations by providing a corporation business tax credit for businesses who make cash contributions to these entities."
The community programs must be approved by both the town and the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services.

Organizations and programs want the designation because it would incentivize companies to donate to their cause.
Interested organizations should submit a proposal no later than Friday, April 26, to the Berlin Town Manager’s Office, Berlin Town Hall, 240 Kensington Road, Berlin, CT 06037.
