Berlin Town Council Votes Down $16M Police Department Renovation Project
State and local budget woes were cited.

BERLIN, CT - The local police department will not be getting $16 million worth of improvements to its headquarters after the Town Council voted down the proposal on Tuesday, the Record-Journal reported.
The vote was 4-2, according to the story.
Mayor Mark Kaczynski cited the state’s financial woes and town budget uncertainty as the primary reasons for not going ahead with the project.
