Berlin Town Employee Mourned, GoFundMe Set Up For Children

The 50-year-old public works department employee died unexpectedly on Tuesday, leaving behind three teenage children.

BERLIN, CT — The Berlin community is mourning the recent loss of one of the Town of Berlin's highway department staff who was active in local youth football.

A father of three teenage children, Joseph "Joe" Motta died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the age of 50.

According to a GoFundMe page set up for Motta's family, the father and former corrections officer "worked tirelessly to provide for his kids to ensure they had every opportunity to succeed."
