Berlin's Halloween Scarecrow Contest Details Announced

Registration for the annual contest began Monday, Sept. 18, with winners announced on Halloween.

BERLIN, CT — You know it's fall when the Town of Berlin announces the annual "Berlin's Best Scarecrow Contest."

And that's what the Berlin Parks and Recreation Department did last week with registration opening up on Monday, Sept. 18.

Individuals, volunteer groups and businesses are asked to make and decorate scarecrows for Halloween that will be set up at the Arthur B. Powers Municipal Complex (Berlin Town Hall, 240 Kensington Road).

The contest is free to enter and set-up for the contest is Oct. 14-15.

Residents and guests are then allowed to fill out voting slips available at the Berlin Community Center, Berlin Senior Center, the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library and Berlin Town Hall.

Starting Tuesday, Oct. 17 and running until Friday, Oct. 27, votes will be calculated and the winners in multiple categories announced on Halloween, Oct. 31.
