BERLIN, CT — Summer is almost over for Berlin students, with the first day of school being Thursday, Aug. 27.

Here are some of the important 2026-27 school year dates for the Berlin School System:

Start date: Thursday, Aug. 27.

Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 3 (No school Monday, Nov. 2, for professional development)

Thanksgiving break: Thursday, Nov. 26, through Friday, Nov. 27. (early dismissal Wednesday, Nov. 25)

Winter break: Thursday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 1, 2027 (early dismissal Wednesday, Dec. 23)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, Jan. 18, 2027

Presidents' Day: Monday, Feb. 15, 2027

Spring break: Monday, April 12, 2027, to Friday, April 16, 2027.

Last day of school (tentative): Friday, June 11, 2027. (Early dismissal)
