Coastal Carolina University, Conway SC

  • Emily Thibeault of Berlin, majoring in communication, was among 1,920 students at Coastal Carolina University who made the spring 2017 Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. To qualify for the President's List, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average. All students must be enrolled full time.

Lasell College, Newton MA

  • Lasell College has released the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement during the spring 2017 semester. A student must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher to receive Dean's List recognition. Local students earning this recognition are Lauren Trzasko of Kensington, Allison Brown of Kensington and Alexis Cabral of Berlin.

Lehigh University, Bethlehem PA

  • Dean's List status, which is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses, has been granted to Daniel Dunham of Berlin in the spring 2017 semester.

  • Five local residents were among the approximately 1,000 graduates who received their degrees at the University of Hartford's Undergraduate Commencement on Sunday, May 21: Dana Ottaviani of Berlin, a computer science major in the University's College of Arts and Sciences, received a Bachelor of Science; David Wilcox of Berlin, an electrical engineering major in the University's College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; Mason Paul of Kensington, a mechanical engineering major in the University's College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; Sylvia Dobrowolski of Berlin, a sculpture major in the University's Hartford Art School, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts; and James Fagan of Kensington, a liberal studies student in the University's Hillyer College, received an Associate in Arts.
