BERLIN, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Loyola University Maryland, Baltimore MD

  • Kyra Daigle, a member of the class of 2019 from Kensington, has been named to the spring 2018 Dean's List at Loyola University Maryland. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

  • Nicole Veronesi, of Berlin, had the opportunity to spend some time in Italy this summer as part of a three week study abroad experience in conjunction with the Sant'Anna Institute in Sorrento. Veronesi, along with twenty-one fellow Western New England University students from fifteen different majors, took two classes, Italian Cultures and Covering Italy. Students were immersed in the local culture, studied and reported on the country's rich history and contemporary culture, toured the beautiful Amalfi Coast and the Pompeii Ruins while learning about the Italian food and wine industry. Veronesi is working toward a degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Environmental Engineering.
