BERLIN, CT - Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

-- Cassius Cain of Berlin, CT, has been named to the Champlain College Dean's List for the Fall 2018 semester. Cain is majoring in Psychology.

-- Cedarville University student Evan Cornwall of East Berlin, CT, majoring in Accounting, was named to the Dean's Honor List for Fall 2018.

-- Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Erin Goodwin of Berlin has been selected as a captain of the lacrosse team.

A senior defender, Goodwin had eight goals and five assists for 13 points last season. A starter in all 16 games for the Engineers, she took 37 shots (24 on target), with two game-winning goals, two free-position tallies, 29 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. She was also third on the team with 34 draw controls. Goodwin has played in 46 career games at RPI, collecting 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points. She has 46 shots (32 on goal), with two game-winning and three man-up markers. She has 79 lifetime ground balls to go along with 42 caused turnovers and 50 draw controls.

-- Students at Lasell College were named to the Dean's List for their strong academic performance in the fall 2018 semester included Evan Michalek of Berlin and Briana Muller of Berlin.

-- Mariel Christiana, a Berlin resident majoring in Performance at Ithaca College, was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2018 semester.
