Denise Bacon, 61; Kensington Resident Who Worked for Head Start

Denise (Connelly) Bacon, of Kensington, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was 61.

Denise was a loving wife and mother who would do anything for her family. She worked very hard throughout her life — her last job being at Head Start in New Britain. She enjoyed the outdoors, the ocean, her two black labs and having her family around. She enjoyed decorating her home for every holiday.

Denise leaves behind her husband Bob Bacon; daughter Sarah Bacon and her fiancé Bill Oliver, son Mike Bacon and his wife Lorissa, and daughter Lauren Bacon. She also leaves behind a sister Sue Durand, brother Robert Connelly as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ann Connelly, brother Edward Connelly and sister Maureen Pietrowicz.

A celebration of Denise’s life will be held Thursday Oct. 23, at 11a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, Thursday from 10 to 11a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help fight melanoma.
