DUI Checkpoint In Berlin: When And Where
Police will be operating a checkpoint to catch DUI drivers.
BERLIN, CT — Berlin police will set up a sobriety checkpoint Friday, July 26, on the Berlin Turnpike south of Deming Road. The effort is funded by a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Division to support increased DUI detection and enforcement efforts, which provides 100% reimbursement for overtime costs.
"These patrols will specifically target DUI operation but will also enforce any other violations observed during the course of this operation," Berlin police said in a statement. "The purpose of these patrols and checkpoints is to reduce accidents and injuries related to DUI drivers and help provide safe travel."
Additional DUI patrols may be conducted on Wednesday through Saturday nights through on selected dates and times during the coming year.
