Girls Golf Team Wins CCC Title

All four scorers finish in the top-10.

The Berlin Redcoats girls golf team weathered a tough field of 12 teams and windy conditions at Timberlin Golf Course to win the CCC Conference Golf Tournament.  

Berlin posted a team total for the 18 holes of 361. Conard finished second at 381 and Farmington came in third at 386. Berlin's perfect season record now improves to 17 wins against 0 defeats.

Victoria Fagan led the way for Berlin with an 88.  Emily Stickel added an 89, Alysssa Scheyd 90 and Emily Deutsch 94.

A field of 56 players competed and all four Berlin players received medals for finishing with scores in the top ten.  Jen Whaley of Farmington was tournament medalist with a well-played 83.

"This was a very special day for the girls," Berlin coach Jim Barnes said. "Winning this tournament was one of this team's most important goals for 2011. We have one more big dream, a state championship. We will get our chance next Tuesday at Orange Hills Country Club."
