Health District Offers Additional Flu Clinic

flu clinic, health, public health, prevention, health district

The Central Connecticut Health District has scheduled an additional flu clinic for families and working people. This clinic will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm in the Wethersfield Council Chambers, 505 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, CT 06109.

The Health District offers preservative-free, injectable vaccine to anyone ages 4 years and older, no residency requirements. Due to the fact that the nasal spray vaccine was found ineffective, we will not be offering it this year.

We bill all Aetna, Anthem, CIGNA Healthcare, ConnectiCare, certain United Healthcare, and Medicare Part B insurances. For all others, the cost is $25.00. Participants must bring their ID card from one of these plans to the clinic to receive their flu vaccination at no charge. No one will be denied vaccination for flu because of an inability to pay.

Berlin, Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield residents who are homebound may call the Health District at 860-721-2818 to arrange for a home visit. A recorded message with Health District clinic dates is also available by calling 860-721-2822 and choosing option 1. Information and forms will be available at the clinic and on the Central Connecticut Health District’s web site at www.ccthd.org.
