Hundreds Gather to Remember Berlin Teen

Hundreds of luminaries adorned the football field at Sage Park in memory of Nick Zuk.

Berlin, CT - Nearly 400 supporters gathered on the football field at Sage Park in Berlin Wednesday evening to pay tribute to a courageous young man who lost his battle with leukemia, the Hartford Courant reported.

Nick Zuk, 17, a football player at Berlin High School, passed away June 25. In his honor, residents organized a tribute to him on the field where he played in many football games.

More than 300 luminaries were placed in the center of the field in the shape of a heart, with others inside the heart forming Zuk's jersey number, 53.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at St. Paul Church in Kensington.
