From Porter's Funeral Home.June Emma (Thomas) Smilnak, 68, of Southington, loving wife of Richard Smilnak for 37 years, died Thursday (March 19, 2015) at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in Southington. Born in New Britain, daughter of the late Cutler and the late Elizabeth (Knapik) Thomas, she graduated from Berlin High School, and retired from Northeast Utilities. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Larlene Smilnak of Benicia, California, a brother, Gary Thomas of Madison, and a sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Arthur Voorhees of Mullica Hill, New Jersey. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (March 25, 2015) at 9 a.m. from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, with a Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church on Alling Street. Burial will follow in West Lane Cemetery, Kensington. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday (March 24, 2015) from 5-7 p.m.
