Large Sidewalk Project Commences In Berlin
The Town of Berlin is asking folks living in affected neighborhoods to cooperate with contractors working on the sidewalk installation.
BERLIN, CT — Town-hired contractors will be swarming some local neighborhoods soon, if they haven't already, to install new sidewalks for pedestrians.
According to an announcement by the Town of Berlin this week, construction was to begin this week, though weather impacts have likely caused a change in plans.
Work is anticipated to be completed later this spring, wrote the town.

The Town of Berlin Public Works Department is working in conjunction with PJF Construction Corp. on the sidewalk project.
The construction will occur along the south side of Farmington Avenue between house #1208 eastward to the intersection of Farmington Avenue and #14 Patterson Way, the Town of Berlin wrote.

In addition, sidewalks will also be constructed from house #32 to house #104 on Newton Street and along a portion of Langdon Court from New Britain Road to the entrance of the Kensington Woods Condominiums.
"This activity, in some instances, will require minor adjustments to landscaping (including the removal of trees and shrubbery) within the public right of way, to accommodate the sidewalk," wrote the town.
For those streets with on-street parking, the contractor will need to access the shoulder areas, so residents are being asked to park their vehicles somewhere else if the project is in their neighborhood.
Plans depicting the activity are available for review in the Berlin Public Works Department (Room 120) of Berlin Town Hall, 240 Kensington Road. Questions can also be directed to the Public Works Department at 860-828-7022.
