A Look at Berlin's Winter Sports Team Title History
Redcoat teams have won 12 state titles in winters past.
BERLIN, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball and wrestling) and next Saturday (boys basketball, ice hockey, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a state championship.
To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of all 12 winter team titles won by Berlin High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team):
- wrestling (9) - Class L: 2003, 2001; Class M: 2000, 1999, 1996, 1992, 1991, 1989; Class S: 1986
- ice hockey (2) - Div. III: 2013*, 2012*
- boys basketball (1) - Div. III: 2006
